Mini Grand Canyon Indonesia Kedung Cinet in Jombang East java

When you hear the word 'Grand Canyon', what crosses your mind must be the canyon carved by the Colorado river in Arizona, United States (US). But in Jombang, East Java, there is area popularly known as 'Mini Grand Canyon'.

The area is Kedung Cinet which is located in the middle of Klitih village, Plandaan district, Jombang regency, East Java. It is a unique place with natural atmosphere and beautiful rocks. It is not surprising that the location has become new tourism destination in the region.
Tourists will enjoy the views of the beautiful rocks and river. The place is heaven for people who love to do selfie. You will have photo background similar with Grand Canyon in the US.
"I got the information from social media, saying there is a good spot in Jombang, so we were interested to come and see," he explained.

Another tourist, Miftakhudin, said he had visited Kedung Cinet several times. He said he is never bored every time he visits the place.
 
"We are addicted of coming here, the atmosphere is peaceful and fit for relaxation after a week of work," mentioned the Surabaya-born man. You can reach Kedung Cinet through Jombang City by land. The distance is around 40 kilometers. At first you should go to Ploso bridge, turn left until you see Pladaan Police Office, then turn right and go straight until Klitih Village.

For tourist with car you can't go directly to Kedung Cinet. You have to park around the village. However,local residents provide motorcycle taxi to reach the place. For tourist with motorcycles, you only have to pay Rp3,000 for parking fee.

Desa Gunungsari, kecamatan Bumiaji, Kota Batumerupakan satu-satunya desa di wilayah Kecamatan Bumiaji yang memiliki potensi budidaya bunga potong mawar yang besar dengan cakupan luas lahan mencapai lebih dari 60 hektar. Selain itu mawar jenis Holland juga banyak dijumpai dengan warna yang indah seperti merah tua, merah, putih tissue, putih salju, pink, pink tua, salem, oranye dan lain sebagainya yang berasal dari berbagai macam varietas diantaranya Cerry Brandy, Havalan, Luciana, Marbel, Red Holland serta masih banyak lagi varietas yang sedang dan akan dikembangkan.

Cilembang Lake in Sumedang is Beauty

Cilembang Blue Lake which is located at Hariang village, Buahdua district, Sumedang, West Java recently becomes famous in social media.

The lake offers the beauty of a clear and blue-watered lake. The lake is very clear even you can see the bottom of the lake. It is located in the middle of forest which makes you feel surrounded by nature.

One visitor, Yani, 17, said she is amazed by the lake. To reach the place, visitors should walk around 200 meters across huge rocks.


"It is still natural here, It is cool. Although we need extra effort to reach the place, it is well paid with the beautiful scenery," she mentioned Yani.

Yani who arrived with her classmates from a vocational high school in Sumedang, said they recently know about Cilembang Blue Lake through the social media. They decided to visit the lake during Year-End holiday.

"We recently know this place from social media. it is really beautiful blue lake," she continued.

Besides offering a vast and beautiful area for trekkers to roam around, the plateau is also home to the ancient Dieng temple complex thought to have been built in the seventh century.
The plateau is also home to a museum offering information on the geological and archaeological studies of Dieng.

Dieng Plateau is a marshy plateau that forms the floor of a caldera complex on the Dieng Volcanic Complex near Wonosobo, Central Java, Indonesia.
Referred to as Dieng by Indonesians, it sits at 2,000 metres (6,600 ft) above sea level, far from major population centres. The name "Dieng" comes from Di Hyang which means "Abode of the Gods"

Lawang Sewu, Historic Holiday Destination in Semarang city

When you take holiday in Semarang city, Central Java, don't forget to visit Lawang Sewu. It is a historic building owned by Indonesian Railway.

To reach Lawang Sewu, you can use tourist train from Ambarawa to Tuntang which cost RP50 thousand for each person.

In this holiday season, many tourists from other cities like Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Bandung and Surabaya visit Lawang Sewu. The entrance fee is Rp10 thousand for adult and Rp5 thousand for children.

Indonesian Railways recorded around 10 thousand tourists visit Lawang Sewu per day during this Christmas holiday.

"Especially on Sunday, the last day of the holiday," said Indonesian Railway's Museum Head Sapto Hartoyo in Lawang Sewu, Saturday (12/26/2015).

One visitor from Bandung, Mia, said she was mesmerized by the two storey building. "I come here because i am curious. Now the building has been renovated. It is not scary anymore," she said.

Lawang Sewu, which is a Javanese for building with thousand doors, previously was headquarter for Dutch East Indies Railway Company or Nederlands Indische Spoorweg Maatscappij (NIS). It was built from 1904 until 1907. Local people called it Lawang Sewu because it has a lot of doors.

During Indonesia's Independence War, the building became battlefield between Indonesian youth and Japanese soldiers.

Semarang Municipality Government has enlisted Lawang Sewu as cultural heritage of the city which is protected by law.

Bamboo Forest Tourism in Lumajang East java

People in Indonesia do not need to go abroad to enjoy bamboo forest. At Boon Pring Andeman Tourism Park in Malang, East Java, they could find beautiful bamboo forest.

The 25 hectare park is located around hills. It collects many bamboo variants including Petung, Black Petung, Apus, Tutul, Ampel, Wulung, Kuning, Pagar, Budha, Amplex, Embong and Angus Tifolis.

People can also find a lake in the middle of the park. they could rent duck paddle boat to go across the lake which cost only Rp10,000 for two people.

"The boat could be used for 20 minutes,"said Boon Pring Andeman Tourism Park staff Suyitno.
The park is relatively easy to reach from Malang city. The location is not far from the Jin Pondok Bihaaru Bahri Mosque, which is a famous landmark in Sananrejo village, Turen district, Malang regency.

Borobudur Temple

Borobudur temple is a temple which became a pride of Indonesian people because it is ever been included into the 7 wonders of the world. It also becomes the largest Buddhist temple in the world. This temple is located in Borobudur Village, Magelang, Central of Java, Indonesia. It is approximately 100 km from Semarang, 86 km from Surakarta, and 40 km from Jogjakarta. It was found as a place of worship for the Mahayana Buddhist by Sailendra dynasty in 800 AD. It was first discovered by Sir Thomas Stanford Raffles in 1814. At that time, it was found crushed and buried in the ground.
Originally, it has 10 levels which have overall height about 42 meters. However, after the reparation, the height of Borobudur become approximately 34.5 meters with overall building area about 15,129 m2. The front side of Borobudur temple is facing eastwards, although each side of the temple has similar form. There are 3 main levels of the realm in Borobudur. The third level is Kamadhatu (the realm of lust), Rupadhatu (tangible realm), and Arupadhatu (formless realm).
There are so many reliefs on Borobudur’s wall which total is about 1,460 panels. These reliefs tell about ancient stories written In Sanskrit language and read by Mapradakisana way. Mapradakisana is a way to read in accordance with the clockwise direction. The way to read the story is starting from the east side of the gate at every level of the temple. There are so many stories written on Borobudur’s wall. The first story on this relief is Karmawibhangga which written on the foot of this temple. It tells about karma. Karma is the law of cause and effect obtained by humans. This relief depicts human actions both reprehensible and commendable along with what will they have. The next relief is Laitawistara. These reliefs lined in the stairs on the south side of temple. The numbers of this relief are 120 figures which illustrate the story of the Buddha from birth to become a Buddhist. And then last are Jataka and Awadana relief. This relief tells the story about Buddha before he was born.
Besides decorated with reliefs, Borobudur also has so many sculptures which become a symbol of the Buddha embodiment. The statues are sitting cross-legged in the lotus position and show a certain hand gesture. These are located at Rupadhatu level. There are 432 sculptures there which are lined sequentially in every niche of this level. In the first row, there are 104 niches, in the second row there are 104 niches, in third row 88 niches, in the fourth row 72 niches, and fifth rows 64 niches. Beside sculpture, Borobudur temple also has Stupa. There are 72 Stupas at the level of Aruphadatu. Those stupas are spread in the court at this stage. In the first court, there are 32 stupas, in the second court 24 stupas, and 16 stupas on the third court.
Since the discovery of Borobudur temple, there are so many Buddhist statues theft. Originally, the amount of Buddha statues is 504 statues. More than 300 statues have been damaged. Most of the statues of Buddha are headless because often being stolen to be used in a museum collection.
